Don’t trip or fall this FALL Season!

Fall is almost here, and the City of Hendersonville Fire Department would like to provide everyone with a few safety tips to make sure you don’t fall during FALL Season.

Exercise regularly. Exercising will build strength and improve coordination. Find out what is the best exercise and stay active.

Don’t be in a rush. Many people get up from their chair or seat too fast. Others like to rush to answer the door. Take time to stand, gain composure and balance and then proceed to walk.

Be aware of trip hazards. Make sure that you keep your path clear. Many times, the smallest items can cause someone to trip and fall.

Be careful of wet grass and leaves. When you go for a walk outside, be mindful of where you are walking and make sure to watch for wet grass and leaves.

Use Nightlights. Make sure when you get up at night that there is a light on or a nightlight, so you can see where you are going.

As always, The City of Hendersonville Fire Department wants to make sure you are safe. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to call us at (828) 697-3024. We are here to help!
