On May 9, 2006, the Strategic Planning Committee of the Carolina Village Board of Directors presented a plan for refurbishment of existing facilities and for future growth. This page will present the major highlights of this plan, including some of the slides showing the tentative plans. The first step in the renovation began in 2006 and involved updating the exterior facade of the main building. Apartment windows have been replaced, a stone footing around the building was added. and all siding was replaced. Within the building. additional laundry facilities have been added, and individual apartments are being renovated as they are vacated.
Phase 1 of new construction will add 63 new apartments in a new 3 story wing. These apartments are planned to range from about 814 to 1,050 square feet for the one bedroom units and 1,160 to 1,541 square feet for the two bedroom units. Click for the: FLOOR PLANS
Construction
has begun with site preparation underway. Tentative plans
call for completion
early 2009.
Phase 1
also includes the construction of a new Care Center for
assisted living. This new facility will be built adjacent to
the
Medical Center and will be connected to the Medical Center.

The Board of Directors has been working with consultants and architects to develop these plans as well as other plans fro the future that may include additional dining facilities and public areas.
